This content was planned to be done in Devtober 2021, but things got delayed because of personal reason. But finally it's developed good enough to be released as a milestone. Today, i can official say the Phase 2 of Song of Morus - Soulful Scarlet is finished.

This version introduces a new character Aurum, a paper servant  (which IRL is to be burned to the deceased under Chinese folk religion) animated by protagonist Song. He gets one tutorial level that guide new player to get used to the control, and a starter boss fight level. You probably can't see it, but this character design has been in my mind since the first Song of Morus game. He is planned to be Song's sidekick in the story, the guide in the tutorial, and the player 2 character in case it's a multi player game.

I also do a lot of improvement and tweaking, based on the opinions from  game jam. Apart from small things like graphic and bug fix, i added two elements in the game: healing station and defense action. Song now can heal 1 HP by praying to an altar cabinet (but you need to find it first). She also can project a shield plane that can absort bullets and push pawns away. I guess these mechanic should be able to soften the difficulty problem that testers usually talk about.

And i also changed the ending. The original one is not quite polished as i was rushing to hit the game jam deadline. I feel it's like trying to be touching but failed. Therefore i decide to change it to be more hilarious and wholesome. I know it's kinda a spoiler to post the screenshot here. But it's okay, because even this ending won't be the final version. As i am already planning the phase 3 and more.

In next phase, there will be a character inserted to the story, a character that is Song's rival. He will be like the opposite of Song, and he will also his paper servants. Details can't be posted here, because i am still figuring out.
