This is a port of my other homebrew game project for handheld console. It's a puzzle game that player controls a bunch of penguins to reach a special location. The game only has 40 levels for now

Control

WASD move
Space: confirm/reset

Hint

Egg surround it with 3 penguins (baby or adult) to hatch it
Flip Penguins must all stand on target position to finish the game, laying down doesn't count

Develop

I used library 8Bit-Unity to develop this game in hope of reducing the development time (not a success). I feel the library is still premature, and some feature is not documented. I spent lots of time just trial and error.

In case you want to know, the background of the title page is AI generated. This was supposed to be a quick project.

Great puzzle game. I added it to my new "Gameplay of New C64 Games from March 2025" video along with other recently released games. I hope you enjoy the video.

Wow. Thanks for recording my game.
It's a nice video with lots of good games.

Nice little puzzle game, maybe a joystick control could be used as a future update (if there is one)? What do you think? I also understand about the disk multiload functions being made by 8BitUnity, itself, where it loads graphics data separately.

Originally, it was using joystick to move, but I am not sure how many user have their joystick pluged. So i changed it to just keyboard.

Great game, thanks.

Hi, can you make a single file .prg?

(2 edits)

I think there are several files inside the d64. I am using 8bit-unity and it seems the build command file pack several files (include a file named loader.prg) into it.

Everyone has a joystick.

How does one solve the egg level?

I just added a hint section in this game page. just select the censored text and you will see
