桑之巫韻︰靈域快線 Song of Morus: Limbo Express
A downloadable game for Windows
Young taoist priestess Song helps the deity of Death to escort his underworld train. It's a third person shooter game, that you spider-walk on a speeding train shooting enemies.
So far the game only has 3 game levels, but it will be extended in the future
☯ CONTROL ☯
QWERTY only because of game jam
WASD - move
mouse - aim & shoot
E - interact/use door
Shift - run
Num1/Num2/mouse scroll - switch weapon
F4 - show framerate
☯ CONTEXT ☯
The character wearing black is supposedly called Hei Wuchang/ Hak Mo Seong (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heibai_Wuchang), who is a deity in charge of escorting the spirits of the dead to the underworld. I translate his name to Anitya base on the meaning, as my personal choice.
The pink skin passangers in tutorial stage are servant dummies made of joss paper(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joss_paper). It's part of Chinese ancestral worship to burn papermade offerings to the deceased .
The Braid Girl (辮子姑娘) is an urban legend in Hong Kong. In her story, she flee from mainland to Hong Kong via a livestock trains. Her hair get caught when she jump out from the train. Her scalp and facial skin were torn off, leading to a tragic death. And people started encountering a ghost with braid in front.
☯ NEXT MILESTONE ☯
one level focus on enemy spawns
gamepad control
☯ LONG TERM GOAL ☯
I wish to finish 6 levels, with probably an alternative character to select.
After that, if it's satisfying, the 6 level version will become a free demo, and I will upscale it to a full project.
